One EP is Electronica and Ambient, the other one is Rock, Metal and Guitar Stuff. For the guitar EP I had several collabs, including some unexpected ones. It covers a lot of ground (from heavy metal to ukulele) but I believe it has some consistency and constancy to it. | David Thorley | The Moth Paper at Box End | Country, Pop | LP (10 tracks or 35 minutes) | When I was a student, J.H. Prynne was a lecturer approaching retirement age. He fascinated me: eloquent, esoteric, always unconventional. His lectures were curious digressive affairs and he had a powerful aversion to utilitarian teaching rooms and chairs that stacked. His poems are famous for their density and obliquity. To my knowledge I have never understood one. But I’ve always wanted to and the collected ‘Prynne’ sits on my bookshelf teasing me with its strange possibilities. For this year's RPM, I culled words and phrases from Prynne poems to use as songwriting prompts. It's always hard not to be influenced by Dilla month and especially this year with Dan Charnas Dilla Time book. Anyway have a dig and see what you think, I'm really pleased with joints like Neo and Transmission, I really felt I nailed the bass on those. The project really came together when Gregg Green came through with the goodies. I had asked him to voice message me what it means for him to be creative and what I got back was the thread that tied the tapestry together.
