| Larry DeLuca | An Open Book | Folk | LP (10 tracks or 35 minutes) | I really had no expectations coming into this project. No theme, no grand plans - just write some songs. I did decide this time to make a conscious effort to mostly write for the lower end of my range, which actually made cutting vocals a lot easier - as well as reducing vocal fatigue it gave me fewer takes and more time to work. I also spent more time trying to subtly break other songwriting ruts - an 18-bar phrase instead of a 16, writing a country tune and a Latin number.
