Rachel HecklSomething Against FireExperimentalEP (5 tracks or 20 minutes)This is a collection of song concepts made in my friends apartment in Sacramento and Stockton CA. The songs are brief stories or expressions with compositional layers that I would like to fully flesh out in a subsequent album. I attempt to capture feelings and or stories I’ve experienced. Some sonic experiments like “Kings Way” just aim to capture the room and the moment with a layer of melody that the sounds both provoked and became interwoven. In all, while rough, the pieces stand as a direct reflection on/vessel for what would otherwise be fleeting thoughts/memories. I made this EP at an important milestone and I dedicate it to friends in my life that make worth it to be here and whom I love very much.
